Игра «Treasure Hunt»
Цели:
— повышение интереса учащихся к изучению английского языка;
— развитие навыков языковой догадки;
— воспитание умения работать в команде;
— развитие наблюдательности, внимания, памяти, мышления.
Оборудование: рисунок воздушного шара, кубик, карточки для конкурса «Noughts and Crosses», магниты, цветные карандаши, карточки с буквами, карточки со смайликами, сундучок с призами.
Подготовительный этап:
Формируются две команды. Каждая команда выбирает капитана. Заранее готовится название команды и эмблема.
Суть игры заключается в том, что две команды должны пройти определённый маршрут. В каждом пункте ребята выполняют задание. Команда-победитель в каждом пункте по маршруту следования получает карточку с буквой. В конце игры ребята находят сундук с сокровищами-призами. Составив из букв ключевое предложение, они смогут разгадать код для открытия сундучка с кладом.
Количество пунктов и характер заданий может варьироваться от возраста учащихся и уровня их подготовленности.
Сценарий игры
I. Вступительное слово учителя.
– Hello, boys and girls! I’m glad to see you. Today we have an unusual lesson. We are going to play the game. We have two teams. Each team has a captain. Introduce yourselves. (The teams Angry Cats and Super Heroes introduce themselves).
We are going to play «Treasure Hunt». So I see that you are ready to play.
It is known that one man visited a lot of countries. He had a lot of money. What did he do with his treasure? He hid his treasure in one of the countries in a big coffer. It’s not easy to find it and it’s not easy to open it. We need a special code. We should do a lot of tasks to get the letters of the code. So today we are going to look for treasure. Are you ready to do it? Great! How are we going to travel? Oh, we have a balloon. We’ll fly. But to start our journey we are to prepare for it. Let’s see who will be the first to start the game. Captains come here. Roll the dice.
Our balloon is flying over cities and towns, fields and forests, over oceans and seas. Where is our balloon?
II. We are in the country of Noughts and Crosses
Look at the blackboard. To get the letter of the code each of you one by one comes to the blackboard and takes the picture. You say what it is. If you are right, we give you one point. The sign of the team Angry Cats is a “nought” and the sign of the team Super Heroes is a “cross”. The team that wins gets the letter of the code.

III. Now we are flying to the country of hidden verbs. Our task is to find TEN irregular verbs among these letters and name their second form then translate them. For each correct answer you’ll get a smiley. (SMILEYS)
