“STAR HOUR”

«STAR HOUR»

КВН на английском языке для учащихся 7-8 классов.

Цель: прививать интерес к стране изучаемого языка, расширять кругозор учащихся.

Оборудование: карточки с заданиями, картинки с достопримечательностями, запись отрывков песен на английском языке.

ХОД ИГРЫ.

Today we are having an unusual activity. There will be a competition between 3 teams. You will show What you can do. So, let’s begin our “STAR HOUR.”

1. Задание 1. Представление команд.

You have 3 minutes to introduce your team in a funny pictures.

Учащиеся рисуют картинки и представляют свою команду по английски.

2. The language begins from the alphabet. Do you know English alphabet well? Answer the question, please. Who will be quicker?

Учащиеся вспоминают алфавит и отвечают на вопросы.

What does it mean?

—ID (удостоверение личности –Identification)

Sometimes may be you will visit Great Britain or the USA. But what do you know about their sightseeings? I’ll give you cards. They are mixed. Try to collect them in right order.

It is the name of the famous bell that strikes the hours inside the great clock.

It is a district in the city of Los Angeles in California. It is the home of legendary film studious.

It is a farm in New York where the biggest rock festival ever took place in 1969. Many festivals were later held but none was as famous as this festival.

It is a major avenue in New York running from the top of Manhattan and crossing Times Square at 42^nd Street. It is known to be the heart of theatre life. It is famous as “The Great White Way.”

It is the tallest building in Washington,D.C. and the most famous building in the USA because it is the place where laws are made.

It is a group of buildings in London where the House of Commons and the House of Lords meet. They are also known as the Palace of Westminster.

Учащимся предлагается посмотреть на достопримечательности и назвать их.

(Trafalgar Square, Cambridge, the Houses of Parliament, Piccadilly Circus, Tower Bridge, the Tower, Buckingham Palace, Oxford, St.James’Park)

VI. Конкурс капитанов.

There are some proverbs. Turn them over and name them.

1. Worse early than always. (Better late than never.)

2. One foot is worse than two. (Two heads are better than one.)

3. North or south – school is worst. (East or west – home is best.)

4. Die but rest. (Live and learn.)

Во время проведения конкурса капитанов другим участникам предлагается 10 отрывков популярных песен на английском языке. Они должны отгадать исполнителя.

VII.Конкурс на лучший перевод стихотворения.

За каждый правильный ответ во всех конкурсах команда получает по 1 баллу. Пока жюри подсчитывает баллы, с командами проводится рефлексия.

Команды награждаются грамотами и призами.
